First Day
I want to start the packing today. If I can get my traditional art supplies packed today, and then some books tomorrow, I'll have made a good start on stuff before April begins. We don't really have the last week to pack, so the earlier this gets started the better.
Today on the packing front I will:
Get measurements of boxes to order.I'll do this by taking one of the boxes we have, filling it with books until it reaches a comfortable weight, then order more boxes around the size that would comfortably fit such amount of weight in books. Since we also have comics to pack this will be very useful to know as it'll be about the same weight in the end given all the paper. DONEOrder boxes and packing material. DONE A bunch will be arriving as soon as today, as well. I'm stressed about where I'll keep all of the supplies in the meantime, but I need to keep my focus on what's important. The fact that there will be a mess is unavoidable.Pack traditional art supplies in one of my blue Ikea bags. This was more tiring than I anticipated, but I did think I was viewing it as too simple. Hawk reminded me that I had forgotten about a closet that was full of more stuff so I ended up packing all of it into a box that I am totally okay with leaving as one of the last things we bring over. I know that once the traditional art supplies are packed I'll have a lot of peace of mind that will help going forward with the rest of it.
Some of the boxes I ordered arrived late so I'm going to pack the last of the art supplies, which are just a bunch of sketchbooks, last in one of the medium boxes.
I think if I can do two boxes, or one large box, a day then I'll be making great time. It'll give us some buffer to see if I need more boxes since I should be through all 20 by 10 days at that rate. Today I packed one box and a large blue moving bag, which I think should count as two boxes. We'll see what other two I do next. I do want to pack a kitchen essential's box relatively soon so that we have something to bring on the very first day of the apartment.
Chess

Started my time on LiChess today. I did some of the basic tutorial because I find them very useful even though I know how all the pieces work. I only got 2 stars on the Queen and King exercises which means I already have ways to improve how I use and see my pieces. I played one game against a level 2 bot and found out that Correspondence means I can have a book for Openings available to use, if I need it. I lost in a stalemate to the bot. I wish I were naturally good at Chess sometimes. But I'm trying to find the fun in the struggle and the learning.
Drawing
Didn't get much done in this department. I made a dot move around in Rough Animator. I have an idea for making a drawing of a black dot orbiting Sleepy somehow, but it seems so high effort and I'm trying to keep my ideas simpler. Bleh, maybe I'll make it sometime this week and just live with it being ugly. I'd at least like to start posting art again. It makes me feel good to see my gallery of completed works expand.
Tekken

Since the disastrous release of Season 3 I've decided that I'll keep playing Tekken 8, but only for the dailies on the battle pass. It's definitely copium because I want these cosmetics incase the game gets way better later on. But I don't have much hope it'll be great. So I'm moving onto different fighting games I like to try and find THE ONE that I want to get super good at.
DoA 6 looks so interesting, but something keeps me from trying it. I'm at least going to get back into SF Third Strike first 'cause I love that game. It's just super hard, and aggressive, so. I'd like something more mellow, lmao.
Nice to know I can still rank up without too much effort, though. My play is sloppy, but it's fine enough. I just can't take the game to seriously so I keep having a good time.
Game Dev

I learned about S&box today. I was thinking it would be fun, but reading through the community posts and looking at the games that have been made... I don't know. Something looks weird to me about it. I'm going to give it some time and just restart on Pico8 as originally planned.
Things to make time for tomorrow.
