Day 6: The Tired Catches Up
Today is off to a slow and tired start for me. The boyfriend woke up to do some work over the weekend at 6 AM. I stayed in bed until close to 8. I'm typing right now as I finish my coffee. My body hurts and feels totally out of juice, but I want to pack more. But I also want to take some time on my video games.
We'll see if I can fit it all today. We're going to the Comic Shop tomorrow so at least that's a forced break for me from thinking about this stuff.
Important Dates
Some updates here since there were some appointments on the calendar that I had forgotten.
- Hades Dental Surgery - April 15th.
- Doctor's Appointment - April 20th.
- Dental Surgery Eval - April 23rd.
- Viewing apartments - April 24th and staying with a friend until early May.
On the Packing Front

I think I should absolutely do at least one book box, finish the board game box since the boyfriend will have to focus on the electronics packing now, and pack another cooking essentials box.
I hope I don't need more than two boxes for the first cooking items to bring in our first trip there. I gotta aim for "Essential" and not "ideal." The first cooking essentials pot has a dutch oven, some useful spices, and dried beans. So the second one will at least need prep bowls, cooking utensils, and eating utensils. Plates would also be nice, but I could get paper ones.
Boxes Packed:
Manga - Packed almost all of the manga that was left aside from some hardcover Fullmetal Alchemist ones. Packing this was done using a mishmash of broken down boxes and leftover packing material so it's probably kind of messy, but I wanted to make sure they were protected. I could definitely get a lot better about how to use packing materials, though. I definitely wasted the bubble wrap I bought, I'm sure of it.
Board Games 2 - packing this box definitely showed me that we need one more box to fit the rest of the board games. I'm going to need the boyfriend's help to do it, though. The rectangular shapes are too odd for me to think about clearly.
Board Games 3 + MTG - The boyfriend helped with the next few. This was mostly him packing it as I totally ran out of steam and wanted his help to get all the board games put away. There ended up being enough room for our more personal Magic The Gathering cards so. I really hope this box makes it totally safe and unharmed. :]
Media Cases - Another box made possible by the boyfriend. He made the decision to pack all of the CDs separately in their own protective sleeves and separate bags instead of keeping them in the cases. So he took all the CDs out for our entire physical media library, sorted them into sleeves, and then we were able to put all the empty cases away in one large box. A huge victory.
Chess

I'll make time for a real Chess match tomorrow, but for today I did my normal lessons in Lichess. And I learned something new! Although en passant is not something I have used very often, so it's expected that there was something about it I didn't know. But it does make sense that it would only work from the 5th row.
Tekken 8
Spent some time practicing combos with Lili. Still really bad at using them in an actual game.
It's now the evening and I played a few matches, had fun in all of them, even the ones that I got annoyed the opponent 1-and-done'd me. Why does it feel like I'm the only one that can withstand losing in this game. Egos are fragile in this space, I guess.
But I did record this replay with this Law because even though my playstyle is still so ugly and clearly full of problems, I was able to keep enough of a cool head in the right moments to win against this Law twice. I also think it is kind of funny to watch, lol.
Stretch

This video nearly destroyed me. Doing a back stretch day after how tired my body has been from packing and lifting things sounded so good. So even though it looked so long I got myself to do it. And this routine made me SWEAT!! I had to take breaks. But I made it. And by completing it, I finished my 90 day flexibility program on this app. I feel so accomplished.
Starting two programs tomorrow. One will be for just my ankles and calves which really need the attention. And then in tandem I'll be doing a super beginner full body program just to keep my the rest of my body doing well. If I can manage this I'll be even happier with myself!
Forums
Been a while since I worked on this. All I really have done here is removed some of the lore from the forum names for now. Too much flavor text can affect the usability of a site and right now my focus is on making an easier transition from the Discord. I'd like to be done with the Discord reasonably soon so I can delete it. And that necessitates more time put into the forums.
I might also change the theme tomorrow... Tired of the blue.
Things On Break:
- Baking
- Drawing (5 day break)
- Game Dev (5 day break)
- SF Third Strike (6 day break)
Thinking About Tomorrow
I'm so wiped out from today, but I'm happy with how it went. I want to draw so much. I need to make time for it tomorrow.
However...
I also need to meal prep my usual two bean salad, and I want to also bake a new sliced bread recipe. The oatmeal bread is a delicious winner and I'm adding it to my rotation for sure. But I want a plain white sliced bread to make often, as well. That would give me some versatility. Ideally I also want to make some bagels, but that would probably be pushing it. Would be nice, though. Got flour and cream cheese to go through.
For packing I definitely want to figure out the rest of the kitchen essentials so that I know what needs to be packed and available the first day I'm at the apartment. I also want to pack some books, but I may be out of packing material to do so. We ordered more today so once that arrives the rest of the packing shouldn't need further orders from Uhaul. Moving gets expensive, y'all.
Dates I'm Looking Forward To
- July 2nd - Avatar fighting game release!!
- August 6th - Marvel Tokkon release!
