Day 4 : Real Progress Felt.

Important Dates

On The Packing Front

Day4PackingPic2

Knowing that the boyfriend's sister is going to be in a horrible, tense, stressful mood for the next two weeks is important. I am going to be trying to do all of my packing while she's asleep or upstairs in her room so that I'm not around her while she's tending to her dog. She needs a lot of space and I can imagine how stressful it is trying to take care of a dog who is recovering from surgery. I can't let her stress and tension affect me too much as I need to stay focused on the mission. I will be out of this house soon. I will do everything I can to get out of here.

I've already opened two boxes and started filling one up with our various medium sized decorations and knicknacks like the boyfriend's Dice tower, small candy dispensing machine (which is very cute and pumpkin shaped), funko pops, etc. The other box is for what's left of our board games, hopefully it fits them all. Lastly, the insert for the box of glasses should be coming in today along with the anti-static foam. So hopefully I'll be able to pack away all of our glasses by the end of today, and maybe in the evening the boyfriend can get started on packing some electronics.

I am writing this next part at 6PM, well into the evening. Dinner has been eaten, I made conversation with the mom and kept things fun and calm at the dinner table. But I am disappointed. at 2PM I decided to take a break. And that break continued until 6, with me barely making it through a one hour meeting with a coworker who luckily I love to talk to. I haven't done much more packing. I still want to watch my evening cartoons with the boyfriend and take a shower. I have the time. I just need to be relaxed and calm about it.

The end of the night was such a fun and relaxing time packing with the boyfriend. A great end to the day. We got practically all of our glassware packed, he packed the VR headset (which, by the way, really glad we kept the box it was shipped in because it's perfect for travel), and the last bit of the materials I ordered came in which gives us some time to think about how much more we might need, if any.

Still so much work left to do, but I firmly feel we're in the 40% done phase. We'll pass the halfway mark very soon.

Today we packed:

Baking

I spent time looking up bread flour recipes that seemed easier to make than the one I attempted yesterday. I need to use up a ton of that flour before we leave so that I'm not left carrying more heavy stuff to the new apartment. So far I'm thinking of making the following and see which one I could keep repeating until we're out of here.

Chess

The most I did today was a puzzle in the Chess.com app. I've been doing those daily since I started this blog, but didn't make time for actual Chess with all the packing that ended up happening today. I'm totally fine with that, though.

Things I hope to get to soon:
