Day 2 - Tuesday, End Of March
On The Packing Front

I packed my first box of books using the small boxes that came in from Uhaul. Named it Cookbooks 1. I forgot to take a picture before sealing the box, but I was just too excited to get more packed. That excitement worked against me, though, because I definitely packed those books in a way that wouldn't be great for other boxes to stand on top of it. Going forward I will make sure the boxes are packed in a way that's mindful to how it will be driven in a truck, with other boxes on top of it.
That's one box packed, but I'm feeling some momentum. I think today I want to try and pack three additional boxes. One small for my sketchbooks, another small for books, and a medium for something that I'm not sure yet. Perhaps larger but lighter books, and some DVDs or games? Maybe plushies, since I think we own enough to necessitate an entire medium large box. I'll think about it as the day goes on.
I'm also going to empty out my large container of powdered sugar now that I'm putting my dreams of cookie decorating on hold for a bit. It'll be a great bucket for holding some liquid bottles or all my cooking utensils, I think. Since the lid closes so tightly and it's a thick, heavy plastic exterior. Purchasing this sugar was worth it for the bucket alone.
The boyfriend put together the large box for putting board games away today. I'm not going to hold him to finishing it as he has to work, but it would be awesome if he did. Getting some of the board games packed and out of the way, and using up a large box, would feel great.
And by 3PM not only was the board game box packed, still upstairs and untaped but packed, but also he packed a bunch of our comics and practically all of our plushies into one box!! I feel so good about things!!
I looked up tips on how to tape the boxes because I'm sure there was a better way and found a better way after all! I used it when packing my boxes today. I have named them as follows: Sketchbooks, Kitchen S1 for cooking essentials that I'll need day 1 of the move, Books 2 which is heavier than the previous books box I packed and more densely packed with some drawing books, piano books, and some recipe boxes that the boyfriend's mom gifted me. The only cookbooks I have unpacked now are the ones I'll keep using every day until the move.
Progress is being made, but there's so much more to go!! Tomorrow I'll pack what I hope is the rest of the board games in a medium sized box, some more kitchen stuff in a small box, and maybe some DVDs in a medium box.
Blog
Now that I have this space and I'm enjoying my time with it already, I got a custom domain for it. Setting it up through Porkbun was a strange experience because they created a new view that shows less information. Switching to the Classic view for editing the DNS records showed me that leaving the Host box blank is what creates access to the root. So I omitted using the @ symbol shown in the instructions on Bear's site. I'm hoping this is all it needs to get it working.
I'd really like to create some comfort with domain stuff, but every time I set one up feels like the first time. I'm always making mistakes.
I also customized my dashboard a little just to move away from the default green color that I don't enjoy. I took the CSS from Herman's own Neat Bear Features page and modified it a little for now, but I'll definitely be playing with it more in the future. Sometime this week I also want to experiment with adding comments.
Chess

My comfort for Chess is coming back. I did a few more learning lessons in LiChess and then faced another bot at level 2 and this time I won! By the skin of my teeth, though. I should learn an opening or two, I think.
Cooking

Another try at improving my Moro since it was still too wet the last two times I made it. I have to use up some of the beans I have in the fridge so this was needed because I'm not in the headspace for trying a new recipe out. I'll feel better once the house is emptier and I can do a few more boxes for our move.
Tekken

My play was sloppy today, but I'm just glad I got on and did some matches. More than yesterday, even. All in ranked. And I only lost one match out of like, 3. Ranking up at these lower ranks is not very difficult. I'm wondering when it is the players will really start to feel like they're pushing me to learn the game more. I want to get to that point first before deciding if I want to put in the time, or just sit at that rank.
I do really want to get more intentional about the moves I use, though. I feel like I'm back to mashing a bit. I need to play more fighting games daily to get back to the comfort I was getting to.
Stretching

I was dreading this class all day. But I survived the 43 minutes. I did have to time out at the last 3 minutes and lay on the mat while she went through the final stretch. My hips and legs were stretched to their limits today, and I was sweating. But it felt great. So happy I got into this habit.
The splits classes are always the hardest, and the ones I tend to dread. But they really tackle some of my weakest, tighest points in my hips. So I see them as a necessary evil for now.
Tomorrow I'd like to do more of these other things (however I acknowledge that packing for a move is taking most of my time and energy, as it should since it is priority. So it is unlikely I'll be able to fit all of this in a day. But...I'm stubborn):
Drawing
Game Dev
SF Third Strike
Piano (2 day break)
Forums (2 day break)
